Hello, my dear reader!
I am so happy you have returned and are here with me today! I believe the Lord is trying to speak to my heart and I hope this message can resonate with you as well!
I was driving my car the other day. I was distraught, crying, grieving, sad, confused, and not feeling much hope! I was listening to K-LOVE, my favorite radio station and the song by Josh Baldwin was playing, "Made for More!" The words of this song hit me and I knew that I had to hear and process the words of this song. I LOVE music!
This is the verse that jumped out at me. Take a look below!
"Cause I wasn't made to be tending a grave
I was called by name
Born and raised back to life again
I was made for more"
You can also listen to the song by clicking on the word song:)
Oh reader! We were made for more! The verse of this song made me pivot instantly and I knew I had to write about this topic. Being MADE for MORE is a continuing lesson for me to learn. How about you?
I have had times in my life where I knew I was made for more and I went after it! However, in my recent life with the current trials and tribulations due to the passing of my 40-year-old brother, I have been stuck and not sure how I am supposed to move forward. Can you relate?
I am in the season of tending to a grave.
My dear reader, tending to the grave of my heart has caused me to truly ask the question, "How am I made for more?" We only have so much time! You know this and I know this. Now, don't get me wrong, we have to grieve our pain, but I am still here on earth and so are you. We need to live for the living! I need to LIVE because I am still here! More importantly, Jesus has already buried my past hurts and pains. He does this instantly! But truthfully, I get pulled back into the GRAVE all of the time! What a difficult dance with God my dear reader!
To the grave, to the freedom of Jesus. To the grave, to the freedom of Jesus! Oh how very exhausting!
Maybe you can relate? Maybe you are doing the same dance? To the grave and back to the freedom of Jesus!
Is it an either-or?
Is it a this or that?
I don't know!
All I do know is that tending to the graves of our lives can bring on physical health problems, depression, anxiety, and a whole bunch of stuff! Believe me, I know, I have gone through it and am going through it AGAIN.
But what if there is a new perspective? Can we join in on the new perspective?
YES WE CAN!
There is a new perspective! To be free in the Lord! To come from the FREEDOM place in all that we do!
I want to come from the freedom place dear reader! I do not want to come from the grave.
Oh, how I long to operate from the freedom place! How about you?
How can we come from the freedom place? I invite you to read six suggestions the Lord has placed on my heart!
1.) Slow down- allow the overwhelm to dissipate, check in with yourself, and ask yourself "What do I really want?" This is not a question pointed towards what society wants or what others want from you. What do YOU really want?
2.) Remember how loved you are by our loving Father God, the one who is LOVE! Picture yourself as a little child and remember that God looks at you as innocent as that. He loves you so much and wants the very best for you!
3.) As you remember your childlike self, innocence, and genuine love, you are invited to look at others the same way and LOVE them from that place!
4.) Be kind to yourself. You have as many chances to get it right as you need! You never fail, you are a child of God. No rules are coming from the freedom place. You are loved! You are loved! You are loved!
5.) Allow opportunities and experiences to come as you are present with God and his love. Refill and refuel so that you can give freedom to yourself and others! Fill up, my dear reader on God's divine light and LOVE for YOU!
6.) Allow yourself room to grow in the direction of freedom. I know how hard it is and I am on this journey too! I want to come from a place of freedom and not the grave!
I want peace and I have it through Jesus Christ! I also want FUN and EXCITEMENT while I am here on earth! Let's go there too! He is there with us!!
My dear reader, we were made for more!
Where can we go beyond the grave and pain? Oh many places! How can we feel? Oh, I receive that we can feel ALIVE!!!!!
Yes, ALIVE!
Let's laugh more!
Let's play more!
Let's dream more!
Let's be present more!
Let's give more!
Let's love more!
Let's be more!
Let's receive more!
Let's create more!
Let's celebrate more!
Let's cherish more!
Let's run more!
Let's move more!
Let's see each other more!
Let's feel more!
Let's cry more!
Let's LIVE more!
All of this will be more deep! It will be deeper! We will go deeper my dear reader coming from the freedom place and not the grave! We are deep spiritual beings! Operating out of freedom is a deep, purposeful, intentional endeavor! I am so thankful for it!!!
My dear reader! I have a few coaching questions for you and me. I encourage you to answer them at your earliest convenience. Grab a journal, light a candle, and write your responses.
1.) What do you look like coming from the grave?
2.) What do you look like coming from the freedom place of Jesus?
3.) How are you made for more? What does that look like for you?
4.) How can you operate in the space of freedom more often than the space of the grave?
